Who is in the directory
We hold practices in metro areas across the country. A practice is in the directory because public business records place it in the area it is listed under. That is the only condition. We charge nothing for a listing, a practice cannot buy its way in, and no practice can pay to keep another one out.
Board certification is not a condition of being listed. Where a state medical board or the federal NPI registry confirms a surgeon, we say so on the profile and name the source and the date. Where we have not confirmed one, the profile says that too. Neither state costs a practice anything and neither is for sale. Our sources, in detail
Who appears on a list
A city page lists every practice we hold in that area. A page for one of our 13 procedures in one city lists only the practices whose own website names that procedure, and each row carries the page we read and the date we read it, so you can check it yourself. That rule also decides which of those pages exist at all: where fewer than five practices in an area name a procedure we send you to the city page instead of writing a page with nothing in it.
How the list is ordered
Five rules, in this order. Surgeons with the BeautyVetted badge come first: their practice claimed its listing and we confirmed their board certification against a primary source. Other practices that claimed their listing come next. In those two groups, the most recent claim comes first. Claiming is free and open to every practice. Then surgeons whose board certification we confirmed. Then practices in the city itself, before the wider area around it. Then the rest, alphabetically by practice name.
Money is not one of the five rules and cannot become one: the code that orders every list on this site cannot read what a practice pays. The code that decides which practices receive a consultation request cannot read it either.
What a Featured practice pays for
A practice can pay $1,749 a month to be labelled Featured. The fee is flat. It never varies with the number of requests we pass on, and there is no per-request price on this site for anybody.
What the fee buys is a labelled block, marked "Featured placement (paid)", sitting outside the ordered list. What it does not buy: who is listed, the order of the list, and who receives your request. A paid practice never appears inside the ordered list ahead of one that has not paid. The terms
Our relationship with a practice
Advertising, and nothing else. We hold no ownership interest in any practice listed here. No clinician works for us. We take no fee from a practice and no fee from you for a consultation request. We do not recommend one surgeon over another, and BeautyVetted is not a medical practice.
What takes a listing down
A listing loses its place when the evidence behind it does. We retract a procedure row when the practice's own site stops supporting it. We take back a confirmed board certification we cannot re-confirm at the source. We hold an office out of the request form while we cannot tell which office would receive a request.
Two things never move a listing. We do not remove accurate public information because a practice would prefer it were not published, and whether a practice pays us is never a reason to add or remove it. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the source. [email protected]
Where your request goes
To the practices you tick, and to nobody else. We do not choose them for you, we do not add one you did not pick, and we are paid nothing for your request. The request is free for you, it books no appointment, and each office contacts you directly.
We keep a record of the disclosure you were shown with each request: when it was shown, which version of these words it was, and the page you were on. What we keep, and for how long
